Hello and welcome to Tailored for you Midwifery Services!
My name is Eirene, (pronounced "I-re-knee") and I have been a registered Midwife for the past 8 years . I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery council (NMC) and am a member of the Royal college of Nursing (RCN) professional body.
I work both within the NHS and as an Independent Midwife.
As a mother of 3, who are now all taller than me!!
I have experienced first hand the joys and tribulations of pregnancy, child birth and becoming a family. My journey has shaped my passion for providing safe, informed and truly individualised care .
I started my career as a maternity support worker back in 2009.
Qualifying as a registered Midwife in 2017.
Working in both the NHS and private sector has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience to be able to provide you with personalised, exceptional care.
My real passion is supporting you to make informed choices that are right for you and your family.
I live in Northamptonshire and cover all of the surrounding areas.
Planning a home birth? I can offer you a full and comprehensive home birth package that includes antenatal care and education, birth at home and provide care and support for you and your baby postnatally for up to 4 weeks. With over 7 years of experience with home births you are in safe and caring hands with me. Continuity of care and carer is proven to support positive outcomes for mums and babies and that's what I can offer you if you book care with me. If for whatever reason you end up birthing in hospital, I can be there with you as your advocate and support.
The home birth package includes all routine antenatal bloods with an extra full blood count at 34 weeks to check your iron levels, NIPT test, fetal RHD screen and glucose tolerance (if needed), early pregnancy scan, anomaly scan at around 20 weeks and one scan later in pregnancy at a time of your choice. If growth scans are clinically indicated these will also be included
I will be on call for you from 37 weeks, ready for when your body and baby decide it is time. Use of a birthing pool and tens machine for labour, correspondence with your local NHS trust if needed, routine checks for baby, such as the newborn infant physical examination (NIPE) and the day 5 newborn blood spot test (NBBS).
Antenatal and postnatal care provided as per the above home birth package.
I can then come and see you at home in early labour and therefore we do not need to go to hospital till we know it is the right time. In hospital I can support you and your partner through the birth journey, being your voice and advocate where needed. After baby is born I will stay for a while and help with the first feed and anything else you may need support with, then its time for me to leave and you to spend time bonding as a new family. I can come and see you on the ward and offer support if you or baby need to stay in hospital.
Postnatal care then continues at home as above.
