Yes, I am a registered Midwife and therefore can provide all of your Midwifery led care
You don't need to see an NHS Midwife. However, you can if you want to, it is completely up to you. If you don't see an NHS midwife you are not going to miss out on anything as I will liaise with your local hospital on anything that needs to be shared and I will make sure you have all the care you need.
Yes absolutely. This is your pregnancy journey and I am here to support you. For some Pregnancies you are advised to be under the care of an Obstetrician, which may mean extra appointments at the hospital. I can attend these with you if you so wish.
If I have any concerns about you or baby during your labour then I will discuss these with you and recommend a plan of action. Sometimes this may mean transferring into hospital. Your local hospital will already be aware you are in labour and that I am looking after you (I call them to alert them). If we go in we will most likely travel via ambulance. On arrival I will handover to NHS staff and they will continue your clinical care. I stay with you but act as your support partner rather than your clinician.
These can all be arranged through myself.
For the NIPT test you need to be 10 weeks and have had a scan that confirms this gestation
Pregnancy booking bloods should ideally be taken before 10 weeks
GTT should be taken between 24-28 weeks
Yes I am and more information can be made available upon request.
Birth Insurance is expensive and can only be sourced from one place in the UK. This means £2000 of any birth package goes to insurance fees. This fee is non-refundable, even if the pregnancy plan changes. I need birth insurance to attend to you at home in labour, support in hospital or supporting you at/with your elective CS.
I will do my upmost to get to you and support you. But I cannot 100% guarantee this.
Your postnatal care starts from when you go home. However, all situations are unique and as such if you were in hospital for a longer period of time we can discuss moving this forward so hospital visits take place sooner and become part of your postnatal care.
For all homebirth packages I will always have a second midwife who will attend the birth with me. I will make sure you have had the opportunity to meet them before the birth. If I was unable to attend your birth then the 2nd midwife would attend in my place. I also have an extensive network of Midwives who I can call upon should this unforeseen circumstance arise.
For routine appointments I would try and move then to a mutually acceptable time. If the appointment needed to take place on that day, for example the day 5 postnatal visit, then I would ask my buddy midwife to see you.
